"We are the Dregs of Humanity…"
"It's Your Move" Jason Bateman comedy of the 80's.
Your typical sitcom story Single mom, son (Bateman), and daughter. Enter nerdy, eager to please boyfriend of mother, and chubby friend of son, and let the hijinx ensue!
While this show was quite clever, the key is the episode where Bateman and fat friend create the "Dregs of Humanity"
They lost the money for a rock band for the school dance, so they dressed up skeletons from science class, used fake smoke, and created a death metal band called "The Dregs of Humanity." The fat friend was operating the band with ropes tied to his arms and legs. It was a 2 parter (There is not a word yet written to describe the emotion when the words "To be Continued" showed up on the screen.) The insanity really began when they the nerdy boyfriend "interviewed" the band, and they would all say repeatedly the above quote. Why does this stuff fill my head?
My Dreamality: Grand (1990).
It had Bonnie Hunt. The family made pianos. Grand.
I loved it.

I'm going to put it out there that it is no longer cool to mention something that has been on a VH1 nostalgia show.
I wonder when VH1 will start doing the omphaloskeptik "Remember the Remember the..." shows, kind of like Popping-up a Pop-up video, which I think they might have done.
